I haven't opened your link but I am aware that there was a plan in place before she became prime minister. It was not her plan.

 

there were problems with the mines and the industry before her.

The guy was an idiot!. Talk to many ex miners today and they blame scargill more than Thatcher. He betrayed them because he was to bloody thick to do a deal and only thought of his fame .

I am no great supporter of Thatcher she did some good things ( going to the falklands) but did some bad things ( letting council tennants buy there house and NOT replacing them for those that needed them).

Horrible get got millions out of the mining union. He lived like a frigging king while his members and their families starved and lost thier homes

To this day families are still at each others throats about the strike. Scabs are still frowned upon, yes, even in families.
