Might be a bit cheeky but are there plans to show how to fit an anchor system. find all the projects on there easy to understand and follow (being all but hopeless on the DIY) and the yank pages leave me confused!!

Hi Martin, loads of things planned for Project Prowler, the Anchor item is done, but I'm going to do a few minor mods to the set up before posting, it works well as it is, but it's not perfect just yet, have also got a fishfinder article in the making, nearly completed, this time the transducer is not permanently mounted and works really well in testing.

And I have a rudder kit to fit as well, which I need a really nice long day to complete, as it looks a little tricky.

So please be patient. :) And thanks for the positive feedback.

How is your rudder going to stop you from lobbing anchors at poor, defenceless, Tope though? :D

Have you thought about using wire for your anchor cable?

Hi Martin,

If your talking about the AnglersAfloat Anchor Trolley, then you can purchase nearly all of the items from:

www.marinesuperstore.com

They are reasonably local to me, well 35 miles or so and I quite often pop in and have mooch.

The running line cam cleat price is the cheapest I have found, there are a lot of similar products for twice the price :eek

Have fun.

Next article is a rudder. But this may be some time coming as once fitted the Prowler won't fit in my van anymore.

SM,

Just looked at your system, kinda similar to mine, removing the OK rail line and fitting the pulley to elastic cord through the eyelet. I only have mine rigged to run to the stern though, and fitted the rear pulley to the rudder mount so it rides at anchor right in line.

Still gotta fit the cleat though. At the moment I just have a loop on the end of anchor cord and slip it into the karabiner, but that could be a problem in an amergency though, so I need to rig a cleat like you have. I have a cleat but it is too long to properly fit in the recess for the eyelet. Need to get out the hacksaw methinks....

You can see it in the pics I've already posted.

yak1.jpg

The front pulley is tied with shock cord through the spare hole, after removing the deck rigging, in the front paddle leash eye.

The rear pulley is tied to a 'D' eye, actually an old climbing boot lacing 'D' eye, which is bolted to rudder mounting thread insert. I replaced the plastic screw with a same size stainless one.

The 'runner', just above the R in PROWLER, is actually a bike reflector mounting bracket that more or less fits the recess for the rigging eye , after a bit of filling. The cord and karabiner just runs freely under it.
