Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

just before the trust worked on the ban with the e a Norm, the report from the upper thames eel count was 50.

Yet the first spring run after the ban, there was loads and loads of rsa reports re captures within the lower thames, they never went away Norm. Yes I can accept reduction in the stock, but it was over hyped as usual with comments that I will never forget 'every one counts'.

yer right. And worse of all the governing body advises even today, it's best to let go eel that have the hooks left deep inside, knowing that the chance of survival is extremely rare, while providing the opportunity of other fish or animals eating those dead eel. An own goal is an understatement.

:hammer: What I couldn't understand was, banning anglers from keeping the few eels they caught but allowing the commercials to carry on catching. Surely it would have made more sense to put a "total ban in place". Ban the taking of elvers then there'll be enough eels for everyone, eventually.

all I can say Norm it was probably the wrong guys poking their nose in at the time, even the e a stated that the angling take was insignificant. How sad was that. It's called legislation that is not fit for purpose, non targeted. I bet even now the trust wouldn't own up and say that they committed an own goal in more ways than they could ever imagine. All they had to do at the time was seek an anglers mandate, did they? they haven't bothered to date and they still continue with non angler anticipation.

i'de love a trust guy come and tell otherwise.

reports of massive runs of elvers in the severn estuary yet again for the second year running. Are we to see the likes of the trust softening their stance on the guys who don't have an effect on the stock in any event, by asking for a relaxation in the law that bans anglers from taking home those eels that are deep hooked. Or is it the case that they can cuddle up to their secular chums who live for catch and release, even with the knowledge that the deep hooked ones will die in any event.

this was last year, now looking for the repeat in 2014, anyone got a link?

It's a bit early for the results of the elver run Barry, give it a month or so.

(I know if I ate jellied eels, they'd definitely 'come back'. :yucky: )

Angling is more than just catching fish, if it wasn't it would just be called 'catching'......... John
