Dual display problem

what make of video card is it?

in most cases neither personalise or screen resolution will override driver based cloning options in Nvidia or ATI catalyst drivers. they might work to start with but will then be reset once you restart and the official drivers take control again.

once I know which card she has I can probably help a bit more.

secondly there are a few different DVI connections you might be encountering on the back of the card. the connection to the converter might be utterly wrong.

are you sure you have the right converter?

standard one is DVI-I Dual LINK...ive seen several people use the wrong converter and get the same results your encountering; hence why most video cards you buy these days come with their own DVI>VGA converter to be sure its the right one.

Hi Kiri

Looks like you've done it again.

I swapped the converter on my system, that works perfectly, for the converter on her system and I got exactly the same problem she has. Swapped it back and it is fine.

TBH, looking at the pin layout they look identical (DV I Dual) Hers was a cheapy from Amazon. Min was a bit pricier from a local shop. I will try mine on her system tonight and if it works get her one tomorrow.

thanks again

Dave
