Cornwall/Somerset...

I am not sure if any of you guys are down in these areas but my thoughts are with you. With many losing their business and homes it must be catastrophic with no let up in the weather to come. I have seen many lose their homes and businesses over the year and many commit suicide afterwards .Many really don't understand how devastating it can be for them.

I don’t want to go into the politics side but just to say with so many cuts to so many departments like this one Cameron has a lot to answer for. Yes its freak weather but not that much worse than they had a few years back. They had a warning back then.

Anyway as said my genuine heart goes out to any down there...

Cameron was warned many months ago and he refused help down there but his backside has now collapsed and has offered £100 million to little to late the damge has allready been done politically massive i would have thought in the southwest my son lives in plymouth this coalition aint to popular at the moment.

The weather has been extreme to say the least with continues rain, at the end of this week it looks set to change with cooler but drier conditions moving in the wet weather looks to be confined to the northwest but thats still a way off no real singh of any white stuff looks like we are back to the mild winters.

ohhh yummy political slag off's for brekkie today, now lets see what labour has to offer. For more than 20 years those guys in Somerset where complaining about lack of action, now how long was the socialist nightmare in power, spending all the money, ohh yes 13 years wasn't it.

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

Cornwall !Why on earth would any government pump money into a place no bigger than a couple of large towns (population wise) ,not politically sensible when you can buy more votes in the south east .

Its quite a nice place but you have to balance the books nice means poor but cheap second homes so its even nicer ,who in their right minds buys second homes in appalling nasty expensive places ?

It makes me smile regarding flooding ,eqypt depended on flooding for several thousand years while we pottered about in caves ,its a good things its natures bounty if modern man cannot plan ahead knowing full well the "levels" were and have always will be in danger of flooding thats their fault ,why should anyone pay tax payers money on individuals choices of where they live? In six months time the farmers will be whining the ground is to dry and demanding tax payers money on that as well

No they are giving the flood hit areas cash ,cornwall is beyond saving they have little they produce less ,the best thing to improve it would be a major road system but the nimbies and their second homes would make that difficult ,many governments have paid incentives to companies to move to cornwall but its position and geography and lack of competition made the attempts worthless

Unfortunately you cannot exploit workers when the local cost of living is high ,thats not the fault of central government its local government and the cost of getting resources down there and the greed of those that sell them,if companies cannot compete they will exploit workers elsewhere as we have seen

At one time cornwall was extremely rich supplying tin to the world ,did it use that wealth to build medieval motorways or anything else to help themselves ? No they are just as remote industry wise as they were then and now even less

Its not solely their fault at one time britain built everything sold in the world of consequence but the population wants a cut of that booty and once the pay and conditions start costing the employers more of their profit they do to things they raise prices and cannot compete or they go elswhere where the cost of living is lower so its the workers fault as well

Theres really only two political parties ,the cons that represent the employers who want more profit and the labour party who represent the workers who want more money ,they both rarely win

Without the rich taking chances with their money there would be no workers demanding more of it ,without workers there would be fewer rich

Come off of it, this has nothing to do with politics, this is to do with the prevailing wind, constant and non stop. If it wasn't for the westerlies the east coast would be getting it. all depends on the jig saw. Wind weather and tide. Cameron isn't god he can't make the wind stop can he. And as for money for cornwall, there is no choice but to pay, they haven't got a railway line at the mo. Chesters is right, don't matter how much money is available, try getting brunells railway moved off the coast and there will be hell to pay.

There's no doubt that the folks in Somerset are having a hard time at the moment but when you build on a flood plain, there's a clue in the name.

Cornwall has been a bit windy. Tough on anyone who earns a living from the sea but hardly a problem otherwise - and there's plenty of people making unseasonable money from the curious wave watchers..

There's millions of people living in inner cities who'd swap places in an instant.
