That would be the "meagre money" that can be paid at upto £400 per week on a four bedroomed property - and that's just the housing benefit.

You can blame maggie and ALL prime ministers since for that ,had the rent been for council houses the maximum would be half that.

Its just a shame the clamp down is on the british who in many cases (not all unfortunately) have paid into the pot and the couple of million immigrants who get rent paid (usually in higher priced private lodging) and are forbidden to work !

It would be rather nice but impossible to get a FOI request for how much our overseas friends cost us for our kindness

Its not just rent in their case ,they get all their bills paid ,furniture no doubt nice tvs are considered "essential" as humane comforts today so the tv licence will be bundled with it ,and a nice bundle of folding for food and entertainment.

Ofcourse as they are forbidden to work their kids back home will be supported most probably many many of them (there seems to little checking) and in some cases (later admitted after a hooha locally) those with international driving licences may get a banger thrown in as it was cheaper than continual splashing out for taxis (you need to get out otherwise its also inhumane) you really need to get down deep to see where the real money goes you know its not all british layabouts although they are in the overall drain

Even when they are working like us those under a certain wage only take from the pot giving less back than they take

Esa is £111.00 per week. Carers allownce is only paid if claimant receives at least middle rate disability personal care. Esa claimants, who like me, get their money from their contributions pay for their prescriptions, eye and dental care in full. Esa claimants who, like me, get their money from their contributions pay tax on their income. So with council tax being slso levied Esa claimants like me are now significantly worse off. Necessary expenditure however increases daily.

Yep, I'm not suggesting for a moment that there arn't people on social security who aren't experiencing real financial hardship but I do get annoyed when "The disabled" are presented as some sort of homogenous group.

We saw it when PIP came out with the most severely restricted people being (literally) wheeled out for the cameras pleading for the government not to do away with DLA when the reforms were never intended to take money from people with the most serious disability.

You see thats the problem the uninitiated think everyone on benefits is on a beano .I know of one person who is on ten different types of tablets which would cost them £78.50 per month luckily they can claim for a prepayment certificate which can save them quite a considerable amount but they still have to find this out of their benefits

Number me with Rage it,s a shame Number me in Haste its a shame

You want to find out what their problem is ,for certain conditions you can g

et a card that enables you to get all your meds free ,my mrs has one because she has epilepsy ,we were not informed of this by anyone (the gov doesnt tell you much of anything if it costs money) i happened to stumble across it.

My head bailiff got his meds free because he is 80 but didnt realise his 78 year old wife could as no-one had explained to him there was a tick box on the back of the prescription ,i guess theres just as much money not going where it should as going to the wrong people.

I have seen obviously people over the pension age paying for bus fairs perhaps they have never been told they get it ffee perhaps they are to proud?

i live in a two bed bunglaow with my wife. due to health reasons we have to have seperate bedrooms. even though i got a letter from my consultant explaining this we still lost part of our benefit due to the "bedroom tax"

anyone who asks to be moved to a smaller property should have there full benefit reinstated until they get a new smaller property. if the authorty have no smaller properties then that is not the tenants fault.

luckily about 5 years ago cancer patients got free prescriptions.i get a minimum of 6 items every month from my gp, and then at least 10 items a month i have to order for my stoma care as i am a neck breather. i would never be able to afford them if i had to pay.

they dont like to give you more than 1 months supply at a time either :(

People dont want a smaller property ,we have been on a certain council exchange site for over a year and few enquiries about our place which is in a stunning area (if you have a car),every advert bar one in our area is for more bedrooms not less

There is also a loophole where if you have been a tennant for X number of years the bedroom tax doesnt apply
