Swordfish, Tuna & Dolphin Fish - Holidays In Calabria, Italy

I have a house in Calabria, down in the 'toe' of Italy. One of my friends runs sea fishing trips from a local fishing port and has asked me to help him find some 'Brit' anglers.

 

He offers a week's package in self-catering bungalows next to a beautiful mediterranean beach near the port. It includes 4 trips on a licensed, 40 foot, commercial fishing boat accompanied by 2 professional fishermen who earn their living catching fish. 2 morning, 1 afternoon and 1 night trip is standard - others by arrangement.

 

He also includes 3 excursions to local places of interest, a welcome reception, food & wine tastings etc.

 

It's a great area with fantastric weather and famous for swordfish, 'surici', lampughe (dolphin fish), tuna and others.

 

The trips operate in May, June, & September and cost £350.00 per person for 7 days. Travel with Ryanair via Rome in these months is usually cheap if booked ahead. Allow £100-150 max including transfers in Italy.

 

Longer stays can be arranged.

 

Bungalows are two bedroom (4 people) with kitchen, bathroom, lounge area, terrace, BBQ etc.

 

Local wine = less than £1.00/litre
