Chris,

You will have to let me know how you get on. What was the cause of the fish kill, do you know? Was it down to somebody's negligence? If so, were they prosecuted?

Chris,

Whatever happens to the culprits will never be enough. They just don't realise what devastation they cause, and the punishment will be in the form of a small fine, I no doubt.

Had heard about the fish kill a while back. Its a great shame. The LIF was famed for the size of its grayling,I had two 3lbrs there on last years fish in a new PB of 3lb 4ozs first trot down! Ah well it just gives me an excuse to try for those big Chub! and glad that I did make it last year!

But like allready said theres going to be some real lumps again in a few years time.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

I've got a National Mullet Club AGM to attend in Portsmouth the following day (guests welcome), so no point in driving all the way back to Kent then back again to Hampshire the next morning.

Therefore I'll probably be staying over on Saturday night somewhere, so if anyone else wants to end up in a pub after the fish in ................

  • 3 weeks later...

I've just booked the Travelodge at Easleigh for £26 per night for a double room maximum occupancy 3 adults.

Sue and I will be staying two nights so we do not have to rush back after the fishing. I would advise any one to book early if you are staying as these offers go fairly quickly.

After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead.
