Not long to go now

The forecast for my area is looking remarkably friendly with no rain, light winds from the South and temps getting up to 16 degrees C. Coupled with dropping levels and ever improving access to the Kennet this could turn out to be a pleasant week's fishing. Last year my season ended in a whimper during an unusually cold period so I'm hoping for better things this time.

So who else is planning a last hoorah next week?

It's never a 'six', let's put it back

Me of course! Forecast does look remarkably benign don't it!

The Thames is dropping faster than I expected, so I will be having a last few goes for the chub and roach. I'm not expecting too much to be honest, but it's got to be worth a go!

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Fingers crossed Rusty - I am hoping the river goes down enough for a couple of evening sessions at least. Whats it like at Thatcham at the moment? Any ideas? M

Not sure I haven't been there for a few days. I'm pretty confident it would've fined down nicely it's just whether the levels have dropped sufficiently to get anywhere. With the dry and mild weather forecast I'd say you'd have a reasonable chance maybe on the last couple of days.

Funnily enough, you're right, the clarity has been OK apart from the odd day here and there immediately after the rain - its the access that's the problem

Yes I'll be out....... out Trout Fishing that is, the small still waters have been remarkably un affected by the floods this winter and I have come to the conclusion that fishing for triploids (especially in the south of England) is best in winter.
