What settings did you have your camera on for the shot Chef? Janet we go back over to the caravan on Monday for a 4 week stint so will make it my mission to find out what that timber structure on the foreshore is :)

Woke up with the larks this morning so had a stroll down to the seafront, camera in hand. Was hoping for a decent sunrise but it was pants :( Oh well you cannot win them all

This shot was the best of a bad bunch !!!

1/250"

F5.9

Landscape mode

100 iso

Where the settings used in Chefs photo, his panasonic can only use between F2.8 - F5.9 aperture so he will struggle to get a large depth of field.

John,

The sunrise may have been pants, but I love that water effect....

I've tried photographing a local river weir, but I'm struggling to get that sort of effect...I'm sure this camera is capable of it...I think it's just me that hasn't figured out the correct settings yet! I'm still very much on a learning curve with this photography lark!

Any hints and tips on photographing moving water would be appreciated!

Janet

PS. Are you entering that beach "structure" into the monthly comp? It would certainly get my vote!

I'm guessing it's probably just haze and nothing you can do about it. Looks like a reasonably sunny day so that can make heat hazes and mirages which just make things look 'fuzzy'
