My local river today...aren't I SO lucky...it's only a stone's throw from my house!

 

 

It does tend to flood a bit though!

 

 

It looked a bit too powerful down at the weir for any fishing....

 

 

So I did a bit of bird watching instead, and caught this rare visitor...

 

 

 

Anyone else been out and about with their camera over the last few days?

I can't seem to attract any birds to my back garden, other than the odd blackbird.

No Janet I have not been out with my camera over the Xmas but have been in with it. The grandbairns came to ours for Xmas day.

My daughter came over from Sydney to make my Xmas complete

 

 

We had a housefull for Xmas dinner

 

 

Plan on taking in a tug of war and Morris Dancing on New Years Day weather permitting so hopefully should get a few shots from that. Depending on how much beer I get down they may be a bit blurred!!!!

Got this bloke on one of my mangoes. A rhinoceros beetle; they are quite common during The Wet in north Qld.
