Fantastic shot, was that taken using your digital or did you scan in the picture from a conventional photograph?

After a certain age, if you don't wake up aching in every joint, you are probably dead.

They are really good, looking at the link from your profile I notice that spiders are a favourite of yours, but I have to say the ater droplets do make that one stand out for me.

excellent

Thanks Phil. Spiders aren't necessarily a favourite, just easy prey. The garden is always full of them so they are perfect for practising macro shots.

The wolf spiders are my favourite and I've yet to capture a really good image. The way they carry the spiderlings on their backs is amazing.

My big challenge for next year are dragon and damselflies. They have, as yet, eluded me.

Seeing as you all enjoyed the last spider so much, sorry, web :P here's another one ....

I don't know if it's just my monitor, but the effect of the parallel lines of the spiders web against the dark background reminds me of pinstripe suit material. Another fineshot Finepix. :)

As for the dragon & damselflies, this is also an interest of mine. I've not managed to capture any damselflies as yet, but did manage my 1st dragonfly shots of both Hawkers & Darters earlier this year, given the gloomy weather at the moment it seems like a lifetime ago since I was chasing round my local reserve in pursuit of dragonfly shots.

Regards

They are really hard to catch aren't they, bloomin' things don't keep still!

I was given some good advice once, watch where they settle (as they tend to go backwards and fowards to the same place) and slowly move in, and I mean slowly; we could be talking a couple of hours, until they become used to you enough to stay where they are.

Although saying that, some people find them around secluded streams where they quite happily settle on footbridges whether you are their or not!

Happy hunting :)

Oh, just had another look at the image and your right, it's the spit of pinstripe material, fancy that
