Cheers Mr W. I like the edit. I probably should have lightened it some (shot in RAW too). Not sure about exact weights though. I know its rated to be 90,000kg all told. It pulls B-doubles over night and I think most of the time they've got about 15 tonne over each set of axles, so about 45-50tonne. I'll get some shots of B-doubles and the B-triple we run to Perth once a week, now thats an awesome looking beast.

Mick.

PS Here's a B-double I found on line somewhere. Do you guys have these over there?

I can't say that I've seen anything as big as that on UK roads Mick .. they'd have a hell of a job getting around our cities !!

We do not have hundreds of miles of relatively straight roads that are capable of taking "land trains" like you have in Oz.

Most I've seen over here is small trailers tacked on to the rear of other vehicles. Altho' some of the European continent boys are invading us with some big stuff recently !! :D:D

The Older I get .. The better I was.

As an ex Class 1 lorry driver (retired) I would love to see these monster trucks trying to get round some of our roads down here Mr. W. :o

OK, here's my prime mover hooked up to the B-double trailers. One day (on a weekend) I'm going to line them all up for a propper shoot (I've already been told its ok to do).

The ministry over here would have a fit with something that long. Longest we can have without police escourt is this (libary pic) same as i currently drive for a meat company but mines a fridge trailer.

I see them like that in the movies and tv shows. It seems odd that a lot of them in the UK have a single drive axle yet still have tri axle trailers. Then, in the USA they have lots of twin drive prime movers but lots of trailers that have only two axles.

We do have twin axle prime movers, more common in general haulage, but my firm prefers single. Anything else over here is now specialist movers. Like this one from Heanors
