Is it good ? It sure raises plenty of money for charity .....

Who pays for the support teams ?

The inconvenience must be mind boggling to those that want to go about their lives outside the race or those trying to get to work (yes people do work on sundays)

Should public roads be closed to what is in reality big business?

 

Another thing why are there "elite" runners ,why pay them ,why put them on s pedestal over the thousands of other runners running the race for nothing or raising funds for charity?

 

How many people coming into the country on the excuse of running will run off the second their through the barrier at customs?

 

I for one wont watch it just as i dont watch football but at least some money goes to the smaller non multinational super rich charities so i cannot condem it completely

 

Erhaps the pampered "elite" runners should start at the back so they see the real runners that do it for others rather than money for themrselves

Scotland Yard said police are looking to trace a female athlete who has not been seen since finishing the event in 20th place.

Mami Konneh Lahun, 24, from Sierra Leone, had been staying at an address in Greenwich since arriving in the UK on April 7.

She is due to fly home later today but did not return to her temporary accommodation following the race.

Mami has no known links to the UK and does not have a mobile phone.

Its the same for any big event i am sure when our moslem friends up the road have their annual 30/40000 people attending some dont return home its the excuse needed on the visa to come here

 

I remember the hooha at the border when a plane lot of africans coming here on "holiday" was highlighted ,turned out a third disappeared and thats just one plane!

Saturdayin aldershot i can truthfully say several times on glancing round all you can see are obvious foreigners and you dont know if the odd white is polish!

Waiting for the bus one weekday a class of kids walked past with their teachers we counted two pale faces out of about 20

I have nothing against foreigners but only if they stay in foreign countries ,never seen so many chinese featured people in my life and according to the census theres 13 in the village!
