Thanks for the update and thanks for making me feel lots warmer. I just checked and the temp near you right now is -22 °F (-30°C). So much for global warming then? :o

Not to worry Worms. Everyone is entitled to their own opinion no matter how wrong headed and we'll still like you even knowing you like to skin game birds instead of just removing the feathers.

Why, I even have one friend who barbecues beef instead of pork :o and while I won't eat with him, I'll still fish with him and have a beer with him.

:D :D

It's only pheasant that I skin Newt......well, pigeon sometimes just for the breast meat....If you've seen the state of the skin of a pheasant after hitting an icy field from 100' up, then hung for a week or so (3-4 days? You wimp B) ) you'll see why!

One advantage if you skin them is that you end up with a decent cape for fly tying materials instead of bags of feathers everywhere!

Anyway, must dash, I've got a brace and a half to skin and joint for this evening's repast :D

Eating wild caught fish is good for my health, reduces food miles and keeps me fit trying to catch them........it's my choice to do it, not yours to stop me!

Yes Newt, it's been a fairly mild winter here so far, a few spells where it dropped below zero but not like some years where we get weeks and weeks -20, -30F, I wouldn't be here in the winter if my wife would go someplace warm, it would also get me another 2 months of Duck Hunting Thank You, Rod

Do you live in Fla full time or are you from the UK

Yes, sort of, to Florida. Full time RVer since last summer and still feeling our way around.

We are parked 150 feet from a great fishing lake in the FL panhandle and waiting for warmer weather since the fish down here don't like the cold and neither do I. We plan to head to NC for the main part of the summer, back here until it gets too cold for comfortable boat fishing and then down past Tampa for the December-February cold weather then back here for the Spring fishing. When the carp and catfish stop biting because of the water temps, I don't get much fishing done.

I'm American. I wandered on to this forum a few years ago and never left. :D :D We have another active poster from MI and a few others who post from time to time.

My wife is a WI native (Milwaukee) but hates cold weather. I don't mind it so much but a very little sub-zero stuff (that's -18 for you Celsius folk) and I'm more than ready to head south again. Basically, I think that hard water belongs in a glass but not on top of a lake.
