Snow is falling....

Heavy snow here in Sellindge, East Kent. I've just dropped Peggy's Mum down to sea level at Hythe, where it's raining. The snow was so heavy on the way back that traffic was down to 35mph.

The worst thing is that our council hasn't yet gritted the A20 trunk road. For goodness sake, they've had a week's warning!

Seeing you had snow in your part of Kent forced me to look out of my window to see what was happening up in my part and as I post no sign of snow yet. But it is frustrating when the council should have listened to the weather forecast and sent the gritters out. However, it is a bank holiday and I suppose the chances of seeing a gritter on a bank holiday (in my area) is about as rare as seeing rocking horse droppings.

Steve, the A28 and the Chartham Downs roads were gritted on Christmas day! I didn't notice whether they had done "my road" the B2068.......maybe I will give the fishing a miss today :D

Thanks for that, Den.

Members might care to know that Den lives on my route to Wingham. Sounds as if I won't be going over there for a couple of days! Not that it'll be to fish as the lakes are likely to be frozen, but to take some photos.

We've got about 2 inches now, whilst down on the coast about 5 miles away there's only about half an inch.
