Korda to save fishing

why do anglers who are sucsessful ....... all ways think they know best when it comes to fishery management?

Something that has always been with us. Clubs run matches, about 20% of the club members fish those matches. Consistent winners in the match group get elected to club committee (by other members of the match group) and become instant experts on fishery management (more and more bream in my younger days, more and more carp nowadays)

It's analogous to appointing a dietitian on the basis of his having won a pork-pie-eating contest.

Got to agree with Dave it was Maddocks "kiss and tell" book Carp Fever that really kick started the modern era of "Instant Carp Fishing" It enabled people to go straight into carping thus negating the old learning curve. This learning curve not only taught you the very basics of ALL angling but in turn gave you a RESPECT for other fish and ways of catching them. Without Maddocks we wouldn't have had the likes of Fairbrass.

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!
