How to handle a large subject ?

I read a thread somewhere a few months ago about using some software to join together 100's of images to make one huge picture of a cathedral roof I think. Unfortunately I can't remember any more about it just now, but will do some digging.

 

In the meantime hasn't Colin done it for you anyway?

I can't be of any help to Newt re his query (in fact I can't view the picture Newt has linked in his initial post, which is a shame as I would have liked to have seen a shot of a 9 foot wide fish tank)

Ah ha. As you say Newt, it's called stitching. Here are two links which look like they tell you how to do it (eventually) :
