Can you tell me where and what this is?

Bit of a rubbish photo taken on a phone camera.

Looks like some kind of Victorian Gas thingy?

Cant say where it is they are all over the country but as finepix says its an old gas storage tank. I think as the gas gets used the vessel keeps lowering inside the frame maintaining the same pressure and when it gets refilled the tank moves back up to the top of the frame.

No, I'm fairly certain it's not them, no fancy work there as far as I remember, they do look like gasholders though. Edit: (or rather, it does look like a gasholder

Its definately a gasometer, and it does go down as it empties. Now we gotta work out where it is..
