Fishing seems to be my favorite form of loafing.

I know the joy of fishes in the river through my own joy, as I go walking along the same river.

What do you think if the float does not dip, try again I think.

Take a look at Ulead PhotoImpact. It costs £24.99 and has had rave reviews. It's not as well-known as some of the others due to less advertising. It's very powerful and easy to use. The latest version can handle RAW images, and so now it may get more attention from advanced amateurs and pros.

Thanks, Den, I'd forgotten that.

Peggy's a great fan and I'm about to switch to PhotoImpact too.

It consistently gets recommended above its more well-known competitors. For instance "PhotoImpact is right up there with the likes of Photoshop Elements and PaintShop Pro. And with an easier to use, customisable interface, better support for mid range cameras and more advanced tools such as histograms and SmartCurves, it should definitely appeal to a broader range of photographers"

PC Advisor magazine, December 2005.

GIMP is free and comparable to Photoshop. Just not quite as easy to learn but if you want to take the time, good stuff.

Scaned all the reports on the net and in the end decided on Adobe Elements 4.0.

i felt this would suit my limited knowledge to start with.

Hope i made the right choice.

Use Elements myself, it does all and much more than I want. I thought that the idea was to take photos, process them in the light room (same diference as ark room) only accepting those things that can be reasonably done in a dark room, so a relitivly simple package is all that is required. Or have I missed somthing?
