Chatting about stars on another thread I wanted to post these pictures of some beautiful oil paintings my brother has done from photos taken from the Hubble Telescope. Hope you like em.

I apologise for most of them being sideways, if you look closely at the last one you will see a painting within a painting, my brother took a little poetic license with this one. Can anyone see it? Might try and rotate it for you.

Great one Steve, just go and tell everyone

Good job, it's amazing how many can't see it.

He talks about selling them but hasn't as yet. And they are huge most of them 4' x 5'. There is a cafe in town where they display your artwork on the wall For Sale.

He also does musical instruments, and my Tubular Bell painting.

Wow, stunning! The one of the Horsehead Nebula is very realistic - it's almost like a photograph. I'm sure that there would be a market for them.

TB, perhaps he should move to a "more civilised" country, and then he could sell his work.:) :)

Only joking girl,, those pics are stunning and thank you for posting them, and your other contributions to AN.

Big Ooops...looks like I put my foot in it ....again One can only say that one is awfully sorry.

As for sons paintings, a website is what you need as I'm sure that with an international market they would sell. Or how about getting a local paper to come and view his talent? Local interest would surely generate some sales. Just my thoughts.:)

Thanks guys, I'm sure my brother could sell them if he wanted to and when he runs out of wall space at home I think he will consider it but at the moment they take him about 3 months to do so he is simply too fond of them to sell them.

He did ask me recently if I thought Nicole Kidman would pose for him for the Archibald Prize which awards $35,000 for portraits of well known people, and the other categories offer $10,000. He didn't have time to enter any of his, because they have to be done within a certain time frame, like our own illustrious comp. And certainly he will be inspired if I show him the comments made here. But Nicole Kidman!!! He has never even done portraiture before, what was he thinking?!

Funnily enough, his next project is to paint the whole family having a barby at his house for his 40th, but he says it will be abstract, interesting!
