Sems that my entry for the latest challenge is not eligable because of a problem with the exif...trouble with my pics is that the exif dissapears when I resize them, or when photobucket resizes them.

All getting a bit to technical for me, all I want to do is post a pic....

Your image has the exif data ... unless I'm missing something

I've only just seen the new clause on the challenge regarding images without exif data being disqualified, is this a bit harsh?

As I outlined in my pm to you Den, the attached exif file is important because the challenge parameters "challenge" the photographer over a two week period, the Exif info confirms the date and will stop someone from abusing the rules and taking a prize they perhaps would not deserve. I'm not suggesting you would do that but there will be others who try, especially now as prizes are up for grabs.

I've already started a topic offering help to those who need it here http://www.anglersnet.co.uk/forums/index.php?showtopic=59003 that offer is still open and good, I'll work with anyone for as long as it takes with any software online via the forum in private message or by email...even by phone if necessary to ensure that no one will be excluded or left in any doubt whatsoever as to how to do this.

And I might also add here that saving the exif info with your shot is no more dificult than starting a post here.

Anyone who wants to can pm me with the software they use to resize, make adjustments with and I will investigate and get back to you with the info so you can do it.....easily.

Perhaps I am missing something here (and not just exifs :) :) )

On my original pics, I can R/C and get properties, Summary, and up comes the exif (?)

After resizing all I get is Simple data which does not show the date.

.

When I R/C on other pics on the forums, I get the URL and nothing else...

Steve, just read your post re exifs. You advise that the data can be read by an exif reader and then copied and pasted. That is exactly what i did for my entry to the photo comp.

Is there any way I can keep the data in the "edited" version required by AN?

I am adding "my software" to your request..

Okay Den..I'll look into that in just a min and find a conclusion.

On reflection it seems I may be being a little harsh (gf just told me off!) Trouble is I've been doing this for years so its second nature to me.

So, I dont want to cause any problems for people or make it more difficult than it needs to be. For the forseeable future we shall revert to how the challenge was run for the last couple of occasions, just copy and paste the info to your post as you have been doing.

Another reason I wanted the exif used is because it leads onto other info that can be added to shots that watermarks and protects it. There are some great photos here and they should be protected, I'll shelve that idea for now untill a later date.

Steve, I have had a fiddle and just tried this....

took a pic with date imprint, resized it (no cropping) and then saved as TIFF.

Exif is still there!!!!
