I'm returning to fishing after 12 years away.

Used to fish regularly, then marriage, kids, divorce, and loosing my kit in a garage break in got in the way.

 

Have just started building kit up again so I can get out there and wet a few lines. Apart from a keep net, I am ready to go.

 

Usually fished the Kennet and Avon Canal at Devizes, and intend to revisit my old swims.

 

Don't specifically fish for one type of fish. Usually cast out a carp rod, and float fish while waiting for the buzzer. Switching to a spinner if the swim goes quiet. It is a formula that worked well for me, and prevented boredom.

 

Have also fished stocked lakes and rivers.

 

Never caught a specimen fish. Biggest carp only being 17lbs 6oz. But hope to try in the coming months. Often happy just to fill the net with silvers.

 

Joined the forum to get tips and hints and to jog my memory of the things I have forgotten.

 

Hoping to get my first line wet this coming weekend. Hope to have pictures soon after.
