Not sure about the brown thing, but the other is deffinatley some kind of measuring device, possibly dating back to pre sp!

i will take it to the fossil hunt at charmouth tommorow, should throw a bit more light on it.

I had a quick look at grays, and dont think its human, but dif to say without more pics.

now you don't think i'm together enough to have checked the time do you :lol:

 

it is a public one, i expect there is some sort of fee, not really worth it till after a storm, willow & i checked all the usual places & the grockled up fossils just havnt been replaced yet.

 

i likes my ammonites replaced by iron pyrites, makes em crunchy on the outside & crunchy on the inside.

we will drag a dead fossil along the beach first & if any dogs disturb a live fossil & tear it to shreads then it will just be out of our control. mind you, it's the live fossils fault for being in the area we choose to hunt for dead ones.
