April is only really going to involve the carpies, us real anglers hang on to June 15th! Oh, I'd better put a wink or two in! ;););)

Was gonna post something similar - I won't be fishing between 15th March - 15th June - Licence is on DD however....

I read the front page of the AT in the newsagents today. The basis of the story is that "immigrants" are allegedly eating all our fish. It seems to be something of an AT obsession. I do wish they would pack in the Alf Garnet impression. If they want to write a BNP pamphlet, I wish they'd do it without dragging the reputation of angling through the filth.

You're right Steve, it's becoming a childish obsession. If you can't report the news, create the news...

I expect immigrants (now a dirty word) are also responsible for the rise in house prices and cancer. Remove references to fish from the angling weeklies and you're left with the Daily Express/Daily Mail. It's political correctness gone mad!

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Anyway I will be buying my licence as normal.

So you read the front page of the Angling Times then Steve? I would like to point out the Full report is on page 4, how can you comment on something you have not read?

This is yet another reason I would like the editor of Angling Times (Richard Lee) to publish the whole thing on EVERY angling forum, so that we may debate this fairly and properly, I am STILL awaiting a response from the Angling Times ,despite the fact I have e-mailed them twice!

I am a match angler .....not an anti-Christ!!!]

First post, here goes!!

My gripe with the Rod Licience is, why is it once a year? April 1st. Why can't they do it like car's tax disc - monthly. Might encourage more people to get one, rather than waiting until the next one is out, then not even bothering then!

If all else fails - read the instructions!

Why don't we boycot the AT and renew our licences; this is what I do every year.

Yep, been doing that for years.

Real anglers go trout-fishing in April, mullet fishing in May, and marlin fishing in early June :lol::lol:
