Is This Knot Correct

Doesn't look right to me either, even if it was I'd say it's a waste of time, there's many better knots out there.

Look for a Palomar or Grinner.

This animation suggests that it's a knot for joining line but I can see how you could tie an eyed hook with it.

I think you've got it about right, maybe it's just one of those knots that looks a bit untidy with the tag end running outside of the loops?

It's never a 'six', let's put it back

I use this one for all hooks and swivels, can do it with your eyes closed, simple and neat

Free to choose apart from the ones where the trust poked their nose in. Common eel. tope. Bass and sea bream. All restricted.

New for 2016 TAT are the main instigators for the demise of the u k bass charter boat industry, where they went screaming off to parliament and for the first time assisting so called angling gurus set up bass take bans with the e u using rubbish exaggerated info collected by ices from anglers, they must be very proud.

Upgrade, the door has been closed with regards to anglers being linked to the e u superstate and the failed c f p. So TAT will no longer need to pay monies to the EAA anymore as that org is no longer relevant to the u k . Goodbye to the europeon anglers alliance and pathetic restrictions from the e u.

Angling is better than politics, ban politics from angling.

Consumer of bass. where is the evidence that the u k bass stock need angling trust protection. Why won't you work with your peers instead of castigating them. They have the answer.

Recipie's for mullet stew more than welcomed.

Angling sanitation trust and kent and sussex sea anglers org delete's and blocks rsa's alternative opinion on their face book site. Although they claim to rep all.

new for 2014. where is the evidence that the south coast bream stock need the angling trust? Your campaign has no evidence. Why won't you work with your peers, the inshore under tens? As opposed to alienating them? Angling trust failed big time re bait digging, even fish legal attempted to intervene and failed, all for what, nothing.

Looks like the sea angling reps have been coerced by the ifca's to compose sea angling strategy's that the ifca's at some stage will look at drafting into legislation to manage the rsa, because they like wasting tax payers money. That's without asking the rsa btw. You know who you are..

it looks as though the knot hasnt come together completely or your putting too many turns on it, 4 should do and use saliva to lubricate it before tightening. also looks as though you havnt went through the correct side of the loop when you have made your final turn to tighten the knot if that makes sense.

Ayjay, I wouldnt say its a waste of time its a perfectly good knot for many uses. I use it a lot for hooks and even joining hair rigs to swivels etc and never had a problem.

some lines just dont take to it ive found though, especially on heavier lines its harder to get the coils to come together neatly, in that case ill use a grinner.

It's a *strangulation knot* - it weakens the line - there are better knots that won't ever fail if tied correctly - learn them instead.

There are much better knots than the old blood knot, but it was the first knot I learnt to tie and it did for me for a long time. I still use it for some things - tying the link between weight and swivel in a link leger for instance. Also, fly fishing for small trout and grayling where there is nothing likely to smash me up - it is very quick to tie, easily undone with a fingernail (clip the pigtail off though) and I find that I can tie it with less wastage of tippet than other knots.
