Here in France it is routinely given to the over 50s

I take 75mg a day in powder form.

A lot cheaper than Statins but not as profitable for the drug companies.

Perhaps some bright spark at the statin factory will come up with "with added aspirin" on the package to help sales

I can't remember when I last had a prescription, certainly not in the last 20 years, occasional bouts of sinusitis get treated with Sinutabs and for the occasional headache (usually in hot weather) I take Ibuprofen - and I also have one cod liver oil capsule every night.

In the US we use 81mg tablets but I suspect 81 vs 75 is a variation without a difference.

If aspirin were discovered today - it would be a prescription medication. It is, for me, the most effective medication I take. Most medications are 80% physiological and 20% therapeutic anyway.

Everything has negatives my 50/50 outlook is generally ok in most matters ,whatever is recommended today is bad tomorrow especially if money on both sides is at risk ,red wine kills you one week sales go down ,wine growers find some hardly substantiated "research" and pick out a positive in a sea of negatives and imply its good for you and sales rise

Industry doesnt give a crap about you its about money ,the royalties on aspirin have long gone but even generic aspirin is making big bucks around the world so negatives or positives will effect sales and sales = money
