Well I finnished my river piking season of today.Didnt fish as well as it can and a lot of effort went in for just 8 fish the biggest at a shade over 12lb.

 

Might not have gone out with a bang but I certainly did with a splash! Whilst recovering the boat (there are no slipways for miles on the river so its a slide up/down any suitable sloping bit of bank) it caught on the mud and I managed to pull myself in! Ah well at least the life jacket worked DOH!

And thats my "non indicative opinion"!

Well been to busy to get a session in.

 

Got a day to myself on Friday so I'll nip downt the river for a couple of hours.;)

Better make sure your method is legal, I hear the police are patrolling the banks round your way...

Strangely, I have done this ;) ;) Seriously.

 

Discovered an ancient flooded quarry near to home, mature, with a good population of released/escaped orfe and trout. Bunged out half a mackerel on 1lb line,tied to a tree in the shallows, just to see if there might be pike in there.

No pike, but caught overgrown goldfish on floating bread :)

Bleeding heart liberal pinko, with bacon on top.
