Since Chav posted pic's of the Kingpin Zeppelin reels i've fancied having one. I recently sold a couple of reels to fund one and today it arrived :).

Never understood why they never had gears ,the gearfly fly reel was geared so why not invent a system where it freewheels "out" but the gears engage reeling in

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong

I managed a couple of hours trotting with the Zeppelin reel after tea today. The reel was great to wallise cast with and felt very solid and well made...no clonking etc. My only gripe is because the spool is only 3/4 inch wide winding in with a finger in the holes wasn't to good as my finger kept catching on the ratched bits on the backplate. it would be better to wind in in that fashion of the reel was at least an inch wide. Overall the reel performed superbly and rotates with the slightest tow of water. I had quite a few fish...perch, chub and dace with some quite large dace. Here's a few pic's from the session.....

Check out how greedy the dace are, 12 maggots on a 14's animal...
