Jan & I did the online purchase thing for our rod licenses and since the temporary ones are only good for 8 days, we had to buy a pair of them for each of us.

 

£8.50 x 4 so not cheap but well worth the price I think and pretty painless to get. I'm just glad we only plan to use 1 or 2 rods each.

Well one things for sure, if you forget your licence and leave it at home and the baliff does an ID check, there won't be that many licence holders from North Carolina USA I'm sure, you and Mrs V being probably the only two

i havent had mine checked since 69 but i suspect Newt clad in burmuda shorts, hiawian shirt and strange headgear toting a 2ft rod and loud strange voice will bring them from several counties around

p.s running away wont result in a bullet in the back but a polite "i say ,wheres that foreign chappie orf too" and a sigh as he returns to his car and flask and sarnies

All the EA baliffs seems to hang around Old Bury Hill, I get checked every time I go down there for a day on the crucian lake!

 

Not been checked anywhere else for 4 or 5 years now

I seem to attract the enforcement folk for some reason. I have accidentally been fishing without a proper licence once in my life and managed to get a ticket for doing so. I was fishing a lake that has parts in North Carolina and parts in South Carolina. I thought I was in the NC section and did have a license. Oops - I had wandered into the SC section and at that time did not routinely buy a license for both states each year. Lack of a $15 license and a fine of over $100.

 

My point being that anyone who fishes where we are needs to be sure to have a current license.

Newt each one you have purchased allows you to use two rods so if you bought four thats eight between you .

 

Can i use three of you rods at Wingham.

 

Sorry newt just re-read your post you bought to cover sixteen days ie two per each eight days,my apologizes still can i use one rod at Wingham.

Newt it's what's known as 'Sods Law', the only time in the last few years I was asked to show my licence by a bailiff was, when I had got a new fishing jacket, and hadn't put my licence wallet in the pocket.

Been checked once in my life and that one time happened to be the only time in my life i have forgotten to renew it. With predictable result. The EA guy though all his christmases had come at once.
