WEST HOUSE FISHING REPORT 31/08/14


Overall catches have been good over the last two weeks since the water temperature has dropped. Fish seem to be most active from midafternoon to evening and are responding well to buzzers and nymphs . More and more larger trout are making an appearence among catches with the cooling temperature and remain in mint condition. These has been some good hatches of flies at times during the day and a small floating beetle has produced good results


Free tea and coffee is now available from the lodge at West house for anglers


The heaviest fish this week was caught by Jonathon Dixon of Thirsk, a nice rainbow of 12lb which fell prey to a small black beetle.Other good bags this week were William Jones of Darlington who landed 15 fish caught on a selection of buzzers and Michael Williamson who caught 12 fish the best a nice Brown estimated at 4lb. Other anglers who have had good sessions include Peter Goodsby with 10 fish and Nigel Brown with 9.


The lakes are now open from 8am until 8pm every day
