Loughrigg tarn near Ambleside

Has anyone fished Loughrigg tarn near Ambleside???I am going camping for a couple of days this week and there's a nice looking site near the tarn.I've checked for info online but it's vague,so can anyone give me more info(species,methods,bait etc.)Thanks...

I used to fish it quite often. I had some excellent days catching lots and lots of decent sized perch. I also had one day which produced a stonking roach; I didn't have any scales on me, but I would say that it was as close to 2lb as any I've ever seen. That was from the far, Northern end, away from the farm, most of the bagging up of perch happened on the Western bank, closer to the farm.
