Nice to see the dorsal fin erect (most of my perch obstinately fold them down) - is it an optical illusion, or is the fin held up by holding the spikes against your chin?

thanks all i'm still buzzing about it,

 

the pic was taken just after dusk-halflight- i looked after the fish in the landing net while my mate matty rand ready'ded the scales and camera,thanks to his trick nikon we got some good flash pics and realsed the beast.

 

 

the perch kept its dorsal up n pround the whole time we had to be very carefull with it!

 

teh 2 was icing on the cake...first 2!
