Handset for lap top

I occasionally use my lap-top for power-point presentations using a data projector, but have to be close enough to the lap-top to press the key as it doesn't have a separate hand-set. Is it possible to buy hand-sets that will work with any lap-top, or do I have to get one specially for my model?

Cory has pointed you right....either have one of those or by yourself a cheap wireless mouse....

I use a wireless mouse here...its far easier for people to use than a handset/pointer...

some handsets/pointers do come with software that makes them a bit more configurable with presentations etc though....

I used to use this setup all the time when I was training, and found a wireless mouse to be most effective.
