Rubber boot repair - help?!?

Recommended Posts

Have had a pair of Grubbs ankle boots for 4 years or so and absolutely love them. They are a neoprene and rubber construction, totally waterproof.

However both have developed a small crack in the same place - just on the inside of the rubber instep.

No problem I thought, opening my little wader repair box. First I tried Black Witch - it failed within days. Then I tried a layer of Aquasure over the cracks. Again it failed within a few trips.

Time to finally sort it I thought - a patch of neoprene secured with Aquasure, then a thin layer of same over entire area. Result - after 3 trips the neoprene has cracked in line with the cracks underneath.

Is there anything else I can try or are they bin-bound? They're absolutely fine apart form these small cracks.

Difficult to say ,nothing i have tried really really works in every situation ,the splits you describe will be difficult because of the stresses on them ,i use seamgrip which works on holes but under stress i dont know if it would work

Believe NOTHING anyones says or writes unless you witness it yourself and even then your eyes can deceive you

None of this "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" crap it just means i have at least two enemies!

There is only one opinion i listen to ,its mine and its ALWAYS right even when its wrong
