Went out yesterday and on a short walk saw about 14 Common Darters and a perched up Southern Hawker: perched hawkers have been hard to come by for me for photo's this year, and I didn't have my camera with me.

 

I went back today, very similar weather conditions and temperature, so I was quite hopeful.

 

Got to the little sun-trap corner and set up my folding stool to sit and wait, it wasn't long before a hawker put in an appearance and perched, I took a few pics and sat down again and waited to see if any more would turn up, one did but it wouldn't settle.

 

I folded away my stool, put it in my rucksack and put it on and then thought, I'll just take a couple more pics of the original dragon - did that, turned around to put my stool away and ............... "bl**dy heck some thieving bar steward has nicked it, and my rucksack - how could that happen? It was only three yards away, I didn't see or hear anyone.

 

Then I remembered it was in my rucksack and already on my back - getting older has it's moments. :rolleyes:

That's a cracking shot Ayjay We have several different ones visiting the ponds in the garden, perhaps I should set up the camera, don't seem to do much photography these days.

Good lens (both of them).....

 

I'll have to get out with my camera and take a few damselfly shots, I see a few every time I go fishing but rarely have the right lens to use on them.
