If you are a little more specific about the sort of carp fishing that you're looking for, I'm sure people will be happy to give you a few pointers.

Pike fishing is a little different. Pike fishing is a bit like fight club. The first rule of pike fishing is that you don't talk about pike fishing. Venues holding good pike rarely remain such if a whole bunch of relatively inexperienced anglers descend on them.
