Fritton Fish In?

Recommended Posts

Peter/Jan I'll take you out with me and my missus if she gets her back off the bed!! Rods and lures at the ready!!! An' if I get Jan aboard I'll also have someone who KNOWS what they are doing and can show me the way? :yeah:

Peter, BOOK THAT BOAT!!!(Please) :clap2:

It is to be observed that 'angling' is the name given to fishing by people who can't fish.

If GOD had NOT meant us to go fishing, WHY did he give us arms then??

(If you can't help out someone in need then don't bother my old Dad always said! My grandma put it a LITTLE more, well different! It's like peeing yourself in a black pair of pants she said! It gives you a LOVELY warm feeling but no-one really notices!))

Good idea Chris. More than 2 in a normal size boat trying to toss lures is a bit much.

Budgie - 25 stone is nearly a Koku. Good grief man, that's a lot. I don't even (quite) reach 21 stone and top out now at about 1290 newtons.

Chris, would be honored to be out in a boat with yourself or Peter. Me thinks you over estimate my ability to lure fish, though. I have done such but usually go with hooks/bobber/sinkers and crickets (if they are in season). As I think I've explained before, I enjoy fishing but I LOVE being with Newt. I now have a date to go out on the boat this weekend to hone my skills at lures. I'm sure we can have lots of fun. :)

"The Korda Kid" I like it!I shouldnt take the mick really as he gets dead stroppy over it.I just cant help it though!

In all fairness though Andrew has been really good to me since Ive been ill and unable to work.He has bailed me out several times and if the truth be known I wouldnt have been able to make a lot of the fish ins if it hadnt been for him.

We seem to fish together far more than ever we used to.When I was really in to carp and had acsess to ttop waters all he wanted to do was feeder fish! now he's a "born again carper" keener than ever! One great shame is that all the time I was guiding proffesionaly he had no interest in big cats or carp at all.All he would have had to do was grab a change of cloths get a cheap flight and he could have buddied up with one of my single customers and fished for free.....now Im no longer doing it he wants to!

A great shame but I suppose we all have to do what at the time is right for us.

One thing that I am gratefull for is that we have always shared a mutual love of Piking. This has caused us to fish together more times than anything else, even though we live some 150 miles apart.

Our father sadly never fished but having a brother to fish with has enabled me to understand people when they say about the relationship angling has given them with their father. My "angling career" is in a way at its end now (even though I very much hope to carry on going for many years yet) most of my realistic ambitions have been achieved and my health prevents me from having the same motivation to break PB's or travel abroad "pioneering" any more. I just fish now because its simpley what I do! Andrew on the other hand seems to have "stepped up" his angling! He is going more now than Ive ever known him before.

Hopefully I will carry on getting a buzz out of fishing by seeing him beat his PB,s and catch species he has yet to get (although there cant be many of them left?)Its good having a brother who fish's too.

Ah well enough of this gush :yucky:

Anyone got a set of 25+ stone bathroom scales? If so bring them to Fritton and me and the Fat Boy can have a "weigh off" to see which one is truely the fatest :showoff::D

"The Korda Kid"? I like it :)

Bruv :o:o:o are you feeling alright after you written all that stuff about me??...........Hmmmmm I wonder?

25 stone, plus all that polished stainless steel, heck, thats a lot of body, best have a boat to yourself, Andrew!!

P.S. We could have a breakfast barby, major fry up, or nip down to Asda for a double full English!!! For the more refined amongst us there is an excellent local cafe that does a grand breakfast, and we can nip over by boat.

Re the sub idea, not so far off the mark. There is some interesting WWll ordnance laying on the bottom of Fritton, including a U.S. fighter. The lake was used for 'live' training for D-Day.
