Don't worry, Newt, on the rare occasions both swims have been fished the other one has always been the better. I won't tell Jan if you won't! :whistling:

Yup, I got a secret weapon - stick out lower lip first. If that doesn't do it, just a few tears trickling down the cheeks. Works every time for me. :yahoo: Can't see the Burgess bros doing that.

4 days to go! :sun::sun::sun:

Weather's looking dodgy though...

It sure is!

Cool, wet and very windy! :(

Not good for the tench, but hopefully it'll turn the other species on.

The latest forecast is still cool, but not quite as wet and windy. With mobile weather systems as we have at present even Friday is a long way off. Let's hope it's not too bad.

At the moment Wingham is waterlogged following 2 days of heavy rain last week and a thunderstorm Saturday night. More heavy rain is forecast for Wednesday night.

Minutes before this thunderstorm though it produced another bream, this time 14-04. Additionally more big carp came out, taking the tally in the last 5 weeks since they woke up to nine 30s including the 40. Of these, at least 8 were different fish.

So don't despair if it does rain, it might mean a whopper!

Steve, have any carp been caught from the coarse lake? Or have any been hooked and lost? I like a lake with mysteries!

And those who were seen dancing were thought to be insane by those who could not hear the music

Yes, one carp was hooked and lost last weekend. And at last year's Fish-In Will Wilkinson had the same happen to him.

One of the best things at Wingham is that you've no idea what you'll catch next, especially on worm. It could be anything from a small perch to a record bream. Best of all though, the fish are nowhere near fully-grown yet! :)
