This is a common thread - try a search with "Sea Sickness" in the message title. This appeared last year - it may answer your question, alternatively there are plenty of other "remedies" on the earlier threads :P

********

I don't know right off hand who makes them as I don't tend to have the problem and the last time I dispensed the things was in the late 70s and they were gotten thru a government contract so I never noticed the brand.

With the names, you can probably get a pharmacist (chemist?) to locate them for you.

Two I found with a web search were

Transderm Patch Analgesics

Fentanyl/ Duragesic 25-50-75-100 mcg/hour transderm patch for 72 hours

Lidoderm/ Lidocaine 5% patch for postherpetic neuralgia for 12 hours/day

or

Novartis Consumer Health's scopolamine patch (Transderm Sc p)

You can get more info and some possible sources from

http://www.transdermscop.com/site1/better.html

Hope something works for you, boat fishing is THE BEST

mick h - the patches are wonderful for those prone to motion sickness. One patch if the water is not too rough and two patches if it is.

Unfortunately, unless there has been a change in the past year or so, they are not approved for sale in the UK.

Seems hard to believe since I was dispensing them when I was stationed on a US Coast Guard vessel in around 1980 (so they are not new) and I haven't seen any reports of long-term problems showing up.
