Tonights dinner top trumps

Oh dear me, I managed to overcook the beef and the posh gravy experiment failed miserably. Spuds were good as were the yorkshire puds but that's small consolation given the majority of the joint has been minced and is now in the freezer awaiting a chile con carne.

I ended up working until quarter to four this morning to get something out to a client for start of business today, so I didn't cook my partridge, I had a bowl of cereal and a gallon of coffee. Then couldn't get to sleep until gone five.

Bit greedy for a weeknight, but this is what I meant to have last night. Partridge with stuffing of breadcrumbs, butter, dried apricot and ras el hanout spice mix, wrapped in bacon and roasted. Creamed mushrooms, spring greens, corn on the cob.

I'm not seeing bread and dripping featuring very often on the menu. :)

Has it completely disappeared from our lives?

Must admit, I can't remember when I last had some. :sad2:
