ps tyneside tiddler, you only catch mullet in the winter

the picture on that site you found is completley wrong, thats a bass that has been sitting about for a while and started to get rigamourphis.

Its a decent bass caught from Southend pier, pretty rare

 

ok ok, i know theres no weed on the pier, did it come from the crouch, maybe take bread while fishing for mullet?

It's a perch. When they run out to sea they take on that silver colour because it's better camouflage, a bit like sea trout.

Simon if thats a pollack then i must have caught some feking huge bass..... 2 and 3 at a time on many occasions on mackeral feathers!!

Deffo a bass

Great filleted ,skinned, dipped in flour and then fried in butter, squeeze of lemmon

Fit for a king!!!

No bones that way so you don`t need to worry about chokeing to death.
