Recomend a compass

GB

Recommended Posts

Can anyone recomend a decent low profile compass to fit on top of the centre console of my tarpon. I,ve looked at a few but they are all to bulky.

1 on the lure is worth 2 from the bait.

The front footwell is crying out for a Ritchie Sport same as I have fitted on the Caper Project, may fit the Ritchie Trek Flushmount to the Tarpon

Put the Ritchie Kayaker in there SM....I like the retro look and 1950s UFO profile!....and it matters what I think....afterall when you're finished with it........!!! ;):D

Have fun choosing GB...although I must say they are, like you say, all pretty big.

Cheers, Rich

In case your confused about the use of inches on the Ritchie site, there are 14 inches to a foot, according to one of my young colleagues at work or as he put it a 12 foot panel measures 168 inches. :D

Art, that ain't retro, that's chic :)

Chic, it ceratainly is!...the inches quote is classic...the youth of today are clueless...or as my T shirt puts it 'Youth and Talent are no match for Age and Treachery'

The s 59 kayak one does look tidy although I dont think I have a large enough surface to mount such a beast.

What I am looking for is one I can mount on a vertical plane at the front of the cockpit without drilling a mahoosive great hole in the yak.

14" per foot, no wonder my yak wont go in the garage, it must be 16'3 not 14 ft dam yanks must have got it wrong.

GB, the Sports x-15 makes a very neat job and isn't really that big, given the distance that you will need to be able to read it from it does the job very nicely and is yet to show signs of any leaks!

Have looked at alternatives from Plastimo and Silva, but they are either bigger, more bulky or considerably more expensive.

Compass? allways thought the sun rises in the East and Sets in the west... Good enough for me... Then again i am fitting my GPS Fishfinder with built in compass on my ocean.

Will be great to plot the fishing spots and marks allong with points of interest. only wish i could get sport tv on it aswell..

Boys and their toys when will we stop?
