Online buying recommendations?

Hi again,

 

Would anyone like to share their good / bad experiences of online camera stores? I'm just looking into a few items and always believe word of mouth is worth alot in these circumstances.

I buy memory cards from overseas (Ebay), fraction of the prices over here.

 

Delivery ain't to bad even from Hong Kong.

I have sed a fair number of online stores, inclusing soem of teh overseas ones for camera bits. Its worth checking the warrenty status of anyplace that looks heap, as many sell grey imports. You will have to deal directly with them as the makeer usually doesent cover greys, but as they tend to offer one year its not really a problem. I recently purchased a Nikon SB600 flash from digitalrev, they are based in hong kong, you pay the duty upfront so no nasty suprises. Ift heres not a hudge difference in price i do try and buy in independent shops. Best shop I have been to recently is london camera exchange, part of a smll chain. But the staff were excellent.

I cant see past warehousexpress.com they give very good service ... at half decent prices.

Steve - yes I did see the thread. Only problem is that Jessops are £80 more on the lens I'm after than most other online places. Shame really. The lens is £280ish elsewhere and £360 at Jessops for exactly the same one.

 

Looks like it'll be Warehouse Express then
