:clap2: At the moment I'm off to Namibia for a week but I've got some time off after that so I'll be looking around for somewhere warm, not too far, cheap and some fish, that could fit the bill, do you know anyone in the tourist office that will sponsor a trip to our mutual advantage? :clap2:

Let me know how you get on Elton. I'm out there in January. Last time we went we had some mini spur dogs or mini tope (not sure which to be honest but I put them down as tope at the time) off the rocks along with some small bream using a running ledger with either fish strips or prawns. You do need a licence and the procedure is a bit prolonged. You need to pay for it at a bank (take your passport) and then take the receipt to the civic centre for the licence. Took about 3 hours for us to get ours, just hanging around. There is also a small reservoir with carp in that I have fished in the past. Mostly fish around a pound that we caught on the float with sweetcorn and bread. As far as I understood it (not very far I must say!!) the licence covered our fishing on the reservoir. The police did check out licences there.

Cheers, guys. As ever, my preparation is zero, so I'll probably fling a rod in the case tomorrow morning and read this on Friday from an internet café in Los Cristianos!
