DSLR sensors and dust?

How big (or small) is the problem of dust with DSLR's ?

For someone like me, who may well change lenses several times a day, out in the open?

Hi Den ...

No more than with a film SLR really .... I have used both over the years, and as long as you use sensible precautions you should have no trouble.

Always repalce dust caps on lenses and camera body as soon as possible when changing lenses ... and keep you camera body in the "lens down" position as much as possible.

Digital SLRs usualy have a mirror "flip up" mode to enable you to clean the sensor if necessary. Follow the instructions carefully !! Just imagine that you are trying to clean the film in your film SLR. Never use a brush, or cloth, or power blower when cleaning your sensor. And don't blow the dust away with a big spitty blast from your mouth !!!:blink:

I can't remember the last time I had a problem with sensor dust .... touch wood !!! :headhurt::headhurt:

All commonsense stuff really .......:thumbs:
