Jaybee, they are both brilliant shots, but the second one does it for me ..the texture and pattern in its plumage is so pin sharp..:)

Congratulations does not seem a good enough word, but hopefully you'll get the gist of it.

Thanks Steve - the only downside was having to shoot at ISO400 on a grey day :(

what about entering for the photo comp :sun::sun::sun::sun::sun:

Maybe if I find a really good one in the bunch - has to be something special considering the quality of entries in the comps now-a-days :)

I love seeing these birds. They have a habit of landing on carp rods and setting the buzzers off *just* as you're waking up :D

Beautiful photos.

Jaybee - emailed you on another matter. Let me know if it doesn't arrive this time. Never know what's the best address these days.

Wonderful photos Jaybee, well done that man. :clap3::clap3::clap3:

I've only ever had fleeting glimpses of Kingfishers & the best I've managed is one blurred photograph. Your shots certainly give the necessary encouragement & inspiration to keep on looking. They look like a damn hard bird to get the exposure right on?

Fishing seems to be my favorite form of loafing.

I know the joy of fishes in the river through my own joy, as I go walking along the same river.

What do you think if the float does not dip, try again I think.

Superb Jaybee!

So clear, you can even see the stickleback it's munching on.

Thats why I like it so much! Classic fisherman with his/her catch. Its been a long time since I have seen one for real but from memory they come from the river to a nearby branch catch in mouth, then in a second they are gone. Its a superb capture.:D
