Hunt protestors turn on anglers

Pc Duncan Thomas, the force's wildlife officer, said that saboteurs were increasingly attacking anglers.

 

"Both anglers and grouse shooting parties should be aware of the threat to them and they should have contingencies in place to protect themselves."

 

Looks like we can no longer rely on 999 when the Police themselves are telling us to have 'contingencies to protect ourselves'

cs gas or pepper spray will do the trick just nicely, and if that runs out then they get a zap from my tasar.

That's a bit weird.

Is it OK to possess and wield a 'contingency' machete or isn't it?

Not in the UK. Firearms act covers them as I understand it and no, you can't get a licence and yes, the law will treat you in the same way as if you blew someone away with a pistol.

a machete is legal as long as you only take it out with your fishing gear ideal for making a fresh peg in an overgrown spot

A taser may not be legal in the UK, but what about a cattle prod.
