help with pop ups

my partner had her neice over for a few days, she went on her normal sites, but is now plagued with pop ups that pop up at random, can anyone give me some advice, i dont really want to reformat, she has alot of stuff on there, her own websites and stuff.

Also if you use windows messenger (not MSN Messenger) you can get popups.

 

Click Start > Run Then put this in the box and ok it

 

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

 

This will remove the windows messenger, you`re better off using the MSN messenger as it has more features
