limewire

I have downloaded free version of Limewire but cannot get it to run.... previously it worked ok when I had before

any ideas

Do you mean it wont start when you hit the icon or do you mean it doesnt do the job you downloaded it for ?

 

If its the second check you allowed it access through your firewall. If its the first re install it. Personally Id opt for edonkey. Im sure there are now other more fashionable programs too.

Have deleted limewire today sat doing my mail etc this am and noticed the lights on my router accessing the net checked every thing else and all seemed fine only thing different was installing limewire 2 days ago.

deleted and the lights have stopped. will go back to bittorrent and utorrent.

 

dont like something having access without me knowing what its doing

The thing is with limewire is that even when you click the "x" to close it, its still running from the taskbasr, you only need to right click on the limewire symbol near the clock then choose shutdown for it to close.

 

I use torrents etc but use limewire for single things what I can`t get from torrents

Never understood torrents. Just cant get my head around them.

 

Happy to recieve advice via pm if anyone has any. Sick of downloading stuff for the kids and it turning out to be porn. What sort of sick freek entitles somthing pirates of the carribean when it clearly is for adult viewing only.

I find that if you go to the cinema to watch it, you don't get that problem

do you mean it wont run... if you open limewire up click on file then connect, you should be sorted

There are filters on Limewire that stop porn from getting through, plus it is easy to see if it is porn, they are usually only 1,500kbs and if you hold the cursor over it it says Adults Only. But use the filter.

check your firewall as you will need to enable the right ports for the app to run.
